RolePlayGateway?

List of current character races. If you wish to play as the lu? or Lindra as described in the OP then PM me as I have plans for them.

Anyway:

Humans
Humans have reached a point of natural trans-humanism. Augmentations and enhancements, once implanted and artificial, have become naturally occurring parts of the human body. Heightened speed, strength and senses just to name a few. At age ten children are outfitted with internal HUDs, a painless operation concerning the eyes and brain taking at most ten minutes. They are also able to survive without breathing for thirty minutes ? though this would not be particularly comfortable ? and may also survive in space for a brief time without the need of armor or shielding, though humans are all provided with form-fitting body shields for additional defense (all citizens of the Fleet, human or not, are provided this shielding). Clothing fashion is diverse, largely dependent on personal style or station. Fleet vessels are known for their extreme beauty yet strikingly predatory shapes, made even more stunning by the royal reds and golds coloring their hulls. Human males average seven feet in height, females six-foot ten.

Digit
(GM note: Only allowing a few players to be this)
Theorized to have been created by a race far more advanced than all known to currently exist, Digit ? as the collective and individual ?stations? are known ? is by far one of the most enigmatic of all galactic powers. Whether Digit's creators were destroyed in a Sweep Event or not is unknown. Digit is the epitome of efficiency, able to do much more with less when need be. Only one Digit vessel travels with the Fleet, and the few stations seen by members of the Fleet are stations known as Observers, who seek to study the races making up the Fleet. Mimics, a special sub-type of Observers, purposefully imitate organics, creating a false personality and emulate emotion. As rare as it is to see an Observer, seeing a mimic is rarer still.Their culture and thought patterns are unknown, as is whether or not Digit is truly sentient or simply afforded high intellect by their programming. Digit is known to be very compliant, though it is theorized they are not entirely obedient and simply wish good relations with other powers.

N?'mili/N?'nin:
Hailing from Isarous (ER-301-A to humans), the N?, or N?'fthrii, as they are known collectively, are a species of avian descent. Most notable among the many races encountered by humans for being the first aliens to ever be encountered, back during the time of the Union. Physically they appear fairly humanoid, even going so far as to lack beaks entirely. Their black skin is covered in most places by small feathers, almost like fuzz, with more defined feathers on the arms, legs, neck and spine. They have no hair on their heads, though they do possess a feathered crown. Males (N?'mili) appear more hawklike, and females (N?'nin) bear resemblance to owls. They appear graceful and elegant, and pride themselves in physical upkeep by instinct. Hands end in five fingers, and feet in four talon-tipped toes. Their eyes are well known for being almost entirely black save for a scattering of white dots. A common weakness, besides their physical frailty in comparison to humans, is an intolerance for low temperatures. The average height of males is 6'8'', 6'5'' for females.(GM note: "Elegant and graceful" does not mean "sexy." They are not elegant in an attractive sense but in the sense of how we would think of certain birds as elegant. So no space elves! At least with this race. You want space elves then submit a race idea)

Vol
The vol are a mammalian species that evolved on the planet K Urn. Vol possess three sets of eyes, thick hide, three-fingered hands and two-toed feet. Like humans they are omnivorous, having two upper and lower rows of teeth designed for tearing and grinding food. The vol developed space-faring technology adequate to sustain an interstellar empire some odd three-to-four thousand years ago. Four stars and the surrounding planets were acquired and terraforming processes underway when a rebellion of the outer colonies sparked by an ancient religious order erupted. For more than a century the more developed core worlds designed stronger and better vessels to put the rebellious elements down. The war ended when the order, known as the Adherents, initiated a desperate fallback, successfully engineering the five stars of the vol empire to go supernova. One thousand four-hundred twenty-seven ships (primarily military) survived the Event. It would be nearly a millennium later that the remaining vol encountered Fleet scouts and initiated contact. Stagnation and depression had degraded their society beyond recognition, though their ships (1237, by then), still intact and fully operational, were testaments to what they had once been. In recent years since joining the Fleet the vol have undergone a renaissance. Old knowledge has been reclaimed, and great strives are being made to revitalize their culture to its fullest extent. Such revivals include the wearing of decorative and utilitarian masks and skintight armored suits instead of what humans would regularly identify as ?clothing?. For the vol, the year is now 2784 AMAE (After Mass Annihilation Event). An internal governance has been formed to act as a mediator between the Fleet's ruling body and the vol as well as monitor their people personally. This entity is called the Aqu?ence Initiative, or ?AI?, after the vessel it is based on.

Sjemenites
?Super glue and duct tape? more than adequately describes this race's peculiar take on technology. These avians, despite their technological deficiency, the Sjemenites, hailing from the long dead world of Nevaumma, have been wandering the stars, homeless, for more than forty thousand years. Many have made the mistake of underestimating their potency in combat, and their resourcefulness and creativity, and paid for it. The Sjemenites are wandering salvagers, not seeking anymore than the means to survive. Traders, pirates and mercenaries may make up their ranks, but these are not a people inclined solely to crime as many have come to believe. They have a deep seated belief in the value of honest work, whatever that work may be. Their battle philosophy is one of speed and precision, reflected in their physical build and the make of their ships. They have no true center of government, though there are several competing demesnes here and there, and are therefore politically completely neutral in the scheme of galactic powers. Sjemenites are humanoid, with digitigrade legs and three-toed feet ending in talons. Hands ends in four talon-tipped fingers. Feathering is reserved mostly for the head, arms and neck, coming in a variety of exotic colors and patterns, though skin always remains grey-white. This species is purely carnivorous. Males average six-foot ten, female six-foot eight.
