SAHM and Blogger, is it possible?

It?s not easy being a stay at home mom. Especially when before that, you worked, a lot.

I started blogging about six months after turning from a working (outside the home) mom to a stay-at-home-do-nothing-and-miss-adults-so-much kind of parent. It was my outlet. I could escape on the computer, write what I was feeling that day, and meet other moms, just like me. It was awesome. Fast forward a couple of years, and my blogging as a past time activity has turned into pretty much a full day job, except I still don?t leave the house.

I really hate to say it, but it?s getting hard to balance the two.

I?ve told my husband that to me blogging is my job. I do it because I honestly love to work. I love to communicate with adults, help people, and of course feel like I can provide for our family just as much as he does. Yes, my income is not nearly as much as he makes, but dammit I?m bringing home something, which is better than nothing. The sad part is that my time is way more consumed than his is.

That is social media.

It?s very time consuming nowadays. Between blogging, emails, social networks, helping other bloggers, AND trying to keep up with everything, I find myself wrapped up in it all, way more than I should be.

I often think it would be easier if I could physically leave the house and clock in and out of my work, but there is no eight to five job in blogging or social media. I don?t get that option. So trying to balance blogging with all my motherly duties, which includes housework, cleaning, grocery shopping, and let?s not forget my attempt to go to the gym, is just plain hard.

I?m pretty sure we were not taught any of this in school, nor were we prepared for this. I was not prepared for this.

Is it really possible to have both ? be a full-time stay at home mom and work? Take care of the kids every day and?blog every day?
