Best Buy patterns new store on Apple concept

Best Buy Co. has opened a test store near its headquarters in Richfield, Minn. that is patterned on the sleek Apple store outlets, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The new store has a help desk similar to Apple?s Genius Bar that is rimmed with chairs and manned by the company?s black-tied Geek Squad. Customers can also pay for purchases in several locations rather than having to stand in checkout lines at the front of the store.

Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) sells computers, video games, televisions, digital cameras, mobile phones and appliances. The company has 10 stores in the San Antonio area.
