3,621 PostsThe European Union and the US will begin formal talks on a free-trade agreement, paving the way for the biggest trade deal in history.
[...]
One aim of the free-trade agreement would be to eliminate or reduce tariffs - taxes that apply to imported goods.
For both the EU and US average tariffs are already low, below 3%. But further reductions could nonetheless stimulate additional trade and there are some areas where tariffs are much higher, notably food.

Also... Please let this get rid of the insane restrictions on importing firearms. I'd really, really like to purchase some German or British firearms without paying $1000+

Europe and UK have some of the best sweets and ice-cream, would be nice to see a little bit of all that make its way to the US. The import cost is kinda fucked, a regular Kinder bar/candy type pack can cost like 5 dollars.

As far as food/drink goes, why would the EU want to import any of the junk produced in the US?

They're intended to make you choose locally made products over foreign products, thus helping your local economy. Kinda pointless these days are the demand for a global market just leads to people paying the tariff and buying overseas anyway -

EU roads are often narrov and curved, except Autobahn.
A small & agile little car serves you best, unless the Autobahn (or similar) goes from your home to your destinations of choice.Lotus Elise and hot-hatches are a good example of nippy small cars.

Hahahha. You must have never had American junk food. It's cocaine in delicious form. The EU wants to make you fat. -

It's not sold here normally either, I bought it off an import shop, as well. I've tried vanilla coke, cherry sevenup and many other normally-unavailable drinks and Dr. Pepper takes the lead into being the most uninteresting. -

We do but not only are American cars massive - way too wide for our roads, but they're all left hand drive. Also, American cars tend to have big engines and do bad MPG, so for the running costs and convenience we go for European carsI think Jeremy Clarkson said the Ford GT was wider than our Range Rovers, and so on it overlapped onto the other side of the road, which means you have to drive into the bushes everytime someone drives past

We have Chevrolets, basically if the engine is under 2.0l and it does over 40mpg we'll have it. Anything faster and we go European. -
