CSN: Harbaugh evades questions on Lewis' health

When pressed about the status of Ray Lewis for Sunday?s wild-card playoff game, Ravens coach John Harbaugh was adamant he wouldn't give up anything.

"It's all going to be a game-time decision, as far as anybody knows," Harbaugh said Monday. "This is the playoffs, and we're not taking about injuries.?We're not talking about activations. We really don't care what you or anybody else thinks about that."

The Ravens open with a wild-card game vs. the Indianapolis Colts at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday.

Lewis (triceps) could?ve returned from the injured list to play as early as Dec. 16 vs. the Denver Broncos. He tore the tendon at his elbow on Oct. 14 and hasn?t played since.

Harbaugh has played coy with Lewis' status ever since he started practicing with the Ravens again in early December.

After clinching the AFC North in Week 16 with a win vs. the New York Giants, Harbaugh said that Lewis had been healthy enough to play but that he wanted to be cautious, would hold him out of the regular-season finale at the Cincinnati Bengals and wait until the postseason.?

Going into Sunday's 23-17 loss at Cincinnati, Harbaugh listed Lewis, who had to be activated from the injured list before the game to be eligible for the playoffs, as "probable" instead of doubtul, questionable or out.

Lewis hasn?t taken the field with fellow linebacker Terrell Suggs (biceps) this season. Suggs missed the first six games while recovering from an Achilles tear. When he finally returned in Week 7 at the Houston Texans, Lewis was out.

Suggs has since missed two games because of a muscle tear in his arm, too. He didn?t play in the finale as a precaution.?

Defensive end Arthur Jones was candid about how veterans such as Suggs and Lewis have helped him improve just by their presence. He finished the season with a career-high 4.5 sacks.

He doesn't want them to return vs. the Colts only to be disappointed with a loss.?

"When you got great guys like Ed Reed and Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs, you don't want to disappoint," Jones said.
