MADRID (AP) -Spain players say they have been banned from tweeting during the European Championship.
Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who has recovered from a hamstring injury to help his side defend the European title, wrote on his Twitter account Friday: "From today we are not allowed to use social networks."
Gerard Pique also tells his fans he won't be in touch during the tournament that runs from June 8 to July 1, and Victor Valdes writes: "I hope the next message I write comes with Spain as champion."
Spain 23-men squad is in Madrid before Sunday's friendly against China in Seville. It's their last warm-up before the tournament that is co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
Spain opens June 10 against Italy. It will also face Croatia and Ireland in Group C.
